Design based on "The Cherokees" Label by Unknown. The original label was attached to merchandise manufactured on the Qualla Boundary by The Cherokees Manufacturing Company (owned and operated by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians). The manufacturing company was established in the late 1950s and provided jobs for tribal citizens. The merchandise featuring “The Cherokees” label is currently housed in the Museum of the Cherokee People’s permanent object collection.
